Melon is a piece of software developped by François Zajéga at Numédiart, Mons, Belgium.
And Melon is a piece of software to help designers and creators set up the kinect as a controller for any interactive project requiring this type of 3D camera interface. The software is build to be user friendly and can send squeleton data via the OSC protocol.
François presented his project at the lastest Libre Graphics Meeting. In this video, you’ll also learn the possibilites of the software, the coming improvements and why in hell it is called Melon.
For those who follow this blog, we played with Melon and BLender in one of our Blender bpy/bge workshops. Melon has also been used in this latest installation, Tyranoeil, that you can see until the 9th of June in front of the Central Station, Brussels.
